Michael Malin was born in Birmingham, UK, in 1954. He received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Aston in Birmingham in 1976, then the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Imperial College, London, in 1977 and 1987, respectively. Since 1976, he has worked in the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFDs) at the Imperial College and the Concentration, Heat, and Momentum Ltd., London, where currently he holds the position of a Technical Support Manager. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has reviewed scientific publications for several international journals. He has also served as an External Examiner at the University of Hertfordshire, England, and as an Industrial Advisor of CFDs research students at City University (London), Imperial College (London), University of Greenwich, University of Hertfordshire, and VKI. He has 35 years experience in Industrial CFDs covering an extensive range of application areas and has a special interest in turbulence modeling.
