Yi-Jen Chen is a board-certified radiation oncologist. He received his M.D. degree from National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan and Ph.D. degree from National Tokyo Medical and Dental University in Japan. After establishing a career as a GI Surgical Oncologist in Taiwan, he then furthered his oncologic training in radiation oncology at the University of California, Irvine, Calif, USA. He joined the City of Hope Medical Center in 2002, where he has specialized in colorectal cancer, anal cancer, hepatic cancers, biliary/gallbladder cancers, gynecologic cancers, brachytherapy, image-guided radiation therapy, IMRT, and TomoTherapy. Dr. Chen has published extensively in these areas and is recognized for his expertise in GI cancers. He currently serves as a Panel Member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, which develops national guidelines for the treatment of GI cancers. He is currently a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is active in clinical research. Presently, he serves as an Associate Professor in radiation oncology, City of Hope Medical Center.
