Mowaffaq Hajja, holder of a Ph.D. degree from Purdue University (Indiana, USA), is a Professor of mathematics at Yarmouk University (Irbid, Jordan). Besides means and inequalities, his research interests include transcendental field extensions, classical and modern geometries, and all aspects of elementary mathematics including problem solving and mathematical competitions. He has written about 100 peer-reviewed articles of which about 30 have educational flavor. He has also contributed about 30 problem proposals in the problem columns of the MAA and similar journals, and he has written about 190 reviews for the Mathematical Reviews and Zentralblatt fur Mathematik. He has collaborated with about 25 coauthors.
