Jichai Jeong received the B.S. degree from Korea University in 1980, the M.S. degree from KAIST in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1988. From 1982 to 1985, he worked as a Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology. From 1988 to 1993, he was Member of Technical Staff with AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ, where he worked in optoelectronic integrated circuits and semiconductor lasers for optical communications. From 1993 to 1995, he was the faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department of Pohang University of Science and Technology. In 1995, he joined the faculty of the Radio Engineering Department at Korea University; he is now with the Brain and Cognitive Engineering Department. His current research interests include optical bioimaging, near infrared spectroscopy, and modeling and simulation of optical components and transmission systems for fiber optic communications.
