Dr. Hai-Ling Margaret Cheng is an Assistant Professor of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto and a Scientist in the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for assessment on a functional and cellular level. She has applied her MRI advances to study different diseases (e.g. cancer, ischemia) and regenerating tissue for tissue-engineering applications.
