Chun‐Yen Lin obtained the D.Phil. degree (1997–2002) from Oxford University, Oxford, UK, and the M.D. degree (1980–1987) from Taipei Medical University, Taipei, Taiwan. Lin currently works as Attending Physician at the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou Medical Center, Taoyuan, Taiwan; as a Professor at School of Medicine, Medical College, Chang Gung University, Taoyuan, Taiwan, and at the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the same university; and as a Secretary General at the Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan. Lin’s main research interest is to bridge the basic study, translational study, and clinical study. The main research fields include the following: basic studies: immune mechanisms of immune regulation and immune regulation in tumor immunotherapy; translational studies: immune regulation in chronic viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, acute liver failure, and cancer; and clinical studies: disease characteristics and treatment responses for chronic hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis B, and liver cirrhosis.
