Toshihiro Akisue
Toshihiro Akisue was born in Hyogo, Japan, in 1967. He received the M.D. and the Ph.D. degrees from Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Kobe, Japan in 1992 and 1997, respectively. From 1997 to 2000, Akisue was a Research Fellow at Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Anatomic Pathology, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. From 2001, he has been working as a teaching staff at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine. Presently, he serves as an Associate Professor and a Chief of musculoskeletal tumor unit. He is mainly interested in musculoskeletal tumor and conducts clinical and basic researches. He is a member of Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA), Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), Society for Biomaterials, and International Skeletal Society (ISS). He serves also as a Consultant Reviewer of The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (American volume).
