Anna Walicka received her B.S. degree in engineering and an M.S. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Academy of Technology and Agriculture at Bydgoszcz (Poland). She received her Ph.D. degree from Warsaw University of Technology and the D.S. degree from Wroclaw University of Technology. Currently, Walicka is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Mechanics and Design of Machines in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zielona Gora (Poland). She authored or coauthored about 280 works including the monographs and books (11), journal papers, conference papers, and she elaborated about 220 technical reports and expert opinions. She is a Member of editorial boards of three journals. In addition, she was the organizer and coorganizer (as Chairman or Vice-Chairman of scientific committees) of seven international conferences from tribology and engineering rheology and was also a member of scientific committees of a few international conferences. Her research activities include the areas of fluid and gas dynamics, flow in thin films, applied rheology, theory of Newtonian, and non-Newtonian lubrication.
