James E. Throne

James E. Throne is Research Leader of the Stored-Product Insect Research Unit at the Center for Grain and Animal Health Research in Manhattan, KS, USA, where he leads a team of scientists working on both basic and applied aspects of stored-product entomology, and he is an Adjunct Professor of entomology at Kansas State University. He is internationally recognized for his research program on ecology and management of stored-product insect pests, the application of simulation modeling to entomological research, and the development of statistical methods for life sciences research. He received a B.S. degree in biology from Southeastern Massachusetts University, an M.S. degree in entomology from Washington State University, and a Ph.D. degree in entomology from Cornell University, and he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at North Carolina State University.
