Robert Boots
Robert Boots is an intensive care specialist and thoracic physician. He is the Deputy Director of Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Intensive Care Unit. He trained at the University of Queensland with a Ph.D. degree in ventilator-associated pneumonia and an MMedSci degree in epidemiology from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and an MMedSci degree in health management and information technology from the University of Central Queensland, Australia. Rob has been a Reviewer for national and international journals including AJRCCM and CCM. In 2009, he received the Australian Medical Association of Queensland citation for longstanding and invaluable service to the profession and the community. He has been a Member of the Point Prevalence Committee of the Clinical Trials Group of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society and the Chairman of the Queensland Regional Committee for the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care since 2004. His research and clinical interests are in burns, pulmonary infections, and medical education.
