Xianjie Yang

Xianjie Yang was born in Chongqing, China, in 1964. He received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and the M.S. degree in solid mechanics from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, in 1983 and 1986, respectively. He also obtained the Ph.D. degree from Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan, China, in 1993. Dr. Yang was an Assistant Lecturer and Lecturer from 1986 to 1989 at Chongqing University, China, a Lecturer and an Associate professor from 1993 to 1997, and a Full Professor from 1997 to 2005 at Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Presently, he is a Visiting Professor at Oakland University, Mich, USA. He is mainly interested in fastening and joining of threaded fasteners, the materials’ deformation behavior, fatigue, damage and fracture, and the structure analysis. He has published more than 40 papers in international prestigious journals, more than 20 papers in international conferences, and more than 60 papers in Chinese journals. He has been a Member of ASME since 2000. Moreover, Dr. Yang was a Session Chair for SMIRT182005, ASME PVP2008, SAE 2007, and SAE 2008. He was a Member of the Editorial Board of the journal Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica from 2003 to 2007 and is a Member of Materials Modeling and Testing Committee, SAE International.
