John Morrison Galbraith

John Morrison Galbraith was born in the United States in 1970 and grew up outside of Buffalo, Ny. He received his B.A. degree in chemistry from the Colorado College, Colo, USA, in 1992. From 1993 to 1997, he attended the University of Georgia, Ga, USA, where he received his Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry working under the guidance of Professor Henry F. Schaefer III. He then held postdoctoral positions at the Hebrew University in Jersalem, Israel (1997–1999) working with Sason Shaik and the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash, USA working with Weston T. Borden. Since 2001, he has been an Assistant and then an Associate Professor of chemistry at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, Ny, USA. His current research interests involve using computational methods in order to explore chemical bonding problems in small molecules. This in mainly accomplished through applications of Valence Bond Theory.
