Quinn Lu, Ph.D., currently serves a Manager at GlaxoSmithKline R&D. He is leading a group of molecular biologists and cell biologists at the Department of Biological Reagents and Assay Development, supporting drug-discovery efforts ranging from target validation, reagent generation, assay development, and high-throughput screening. He obtained his B.S. degree in 1984 from China Agricultural University (now Beijing Agricultural University) and his Ph.D. degree in genetics in 1988 from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. He did his postdoctoral research in epigenetics with Professor Sarah Elgin at Washington University, St. Louis (1988-1993) and with Professor Michael Grunstein (1993-1995) at UCLA Medical School. He worked for the biotech reagent company Stratagene for three years before joining SmithKline Beecham/GSK in 1998.
