Vicente Salas received his Ph.D. degree in electronics, electricity, and automation from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2005. He is currently working as an Associate Professor with the Power Electronics Systems Group at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Madrid, Spain. He has participated in numerous projects since 1999. Salas has also published more than 50 papers in journals (reviews) and conference proceedings and has published books in the field of photovoltaic energy, and he has been serving as a Technical Reviewer since 2005 for several major conferences and journals. His research has included the design and development of PV grid‐connected inverters, hybrid PV systems, and new methods of maximum power point tracking as applied to PV stand‐alone and grid‐connected systems. Currently, he works as the General Manager of the UC3M‐PV Laboratory.
