Alberto Cavicchioli

Alberto Cavicchioli received the degree cum laude in mathematics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 1978. He has been a Full Professor in geometry at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia since 1990. He is heading a research team working in the fields of low-dimensional topology, algebraic and geometric topology, a knot theory, and combinatorial theory of groups. He is a Member of the Unione Matematica Italiana (U.M.I.) and the Gruppo Nazionale per le Scienze Algebriche e Geometriche e loro Applicazioni (G.N.S.A.G.A.) at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (C.N.R.), Rome, Italy. Cavicchioli is a Member of the Editorial Board of the mathematical journal Atti del Seminario Matematico e Fisico dell'Università di Modena. He is the Head of the Ph.D. program in mathematics at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
