Alaa El-Din Abdel-Fattah Moustafa Abdel-Fattah received the B.S. degree in chemistry in 1980 from Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, and the M.S. degree in inorganic chemistry in 1990 from Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, and the Ph.D. degree also in inorganic chemistry in 1995 from Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University. The following posts had been occupied at Radioisotopes Production Division, Nuclear Chemistry Department, Hot Laboratories Center, Atomic Energy Authority, Cairo, Egypt: Demonstrative (1982–1990), Assistant Lecturer (1991–1996), Lecturer (1996–2004), and Assistant Professor in radiochemistry (2010). Abdel-Fattah currently serves as Vice Head of Radioisotope Production Division, Hot Laboratories Center, Atomic Energy Authority (AEA). Abdel-Fattah has worked in different fields of radiochemistry. He has worked in the field of separation and purification of different radioactive isotopes of certain importance like actinides, lanthanides, and fission products. He has used solvent extraction, ion exchange, and extraction chromatographic techniques applying thermodynamic and kinetic investigations. Also spectroscopic and spectrophotometric tools have been widely experienced in his work. He has also worked in the field of neutron activation analysis. He has published several papers in all these fields. He was also a major supervisor in two M.S. theses and one Ph.D. thesis in the field of radiochemistry, which had been awarded to his students from different Egyptian Universities.
