Hermann Gram

Hermann Gram was born in 1956 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He received a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology in 1985 at the University of Bochum, Germany. Since 1986, he is at the Novartis Pharma AG (formerly Sandoz AG) in Basel, Switzerland. In 1991/92, he was a Visiting Scientist at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) in La Jolla, USA. His research interests are signal transduction by kinases and gene regulation in macrophages, cytokine regulation, and application of therapeutic antibodies and chemical compounds in inflammatory diseases. He is currently a Project Leader in the Research Department for Autoimmunity, Transplantation and Inflammation at the Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research and holds positions as a Adjunct Professor at TSRI in La Jolla and a Lecturer at the University of Basel.
