Jaroslav Hruda

Jaroslav Hruda was born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia, in 1951. He received his M.D. degree from the Charles University in Prague, Czechoslovakia, in 1975. He completed his residency in pediatrics in Kladno and Prague. From 1980 to 1998 Hruda worked in Pediatric Kardiocentrum, University Hospital Motol, Prague. Following the completion of his fellowship in pediatric cardiology in 1986, he joined the staff at Kardiocentrum and served there as the Head of outpatient services. In 1997 he became an Associate Professor and in 2008 Professor of pediatrics/pediatric cardiology. In 1998 he was invited to join the team of the Center for Congenital Heart Disease Amsterdam/Leiden in The Netherlands. He serves currently as the Head of Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His primary interests include echocardiography and neonatal cardiology.
