Omkar Dandekar received the B.E. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Mumbai, India, in 2000, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University, Columbus, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from University of Maryland, College Park, in 2008. He currently works as a Research Scientist at Intel Corporation, Hillsboro, OR. He previously worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park and at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is a technical expert and innovator with more than 7 years of experience in resolving algorithmic and computational challenges in medical imaging, image analysis, signal processing, clinical applications, and computational lithography. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the aforementioned areas and has been an inventor/coinventor of more than 6 patents. He routinely serves in review/program committees of prestigious journals and conferences in these areas.
