Saad I. El-Zanati received his Ph.D. degree from Auburn University, Auburn, AL, USA, in 1991. His areas of expertise are in combinatorial design theory, graph decompositions, Rosa-type graph labelings, and vector space partitions. Professor El-Zanati is the author of over 60 research articles and is the coauthor of the chapter on graph decompositions in the second edition of the CRC Handbook on Combinatorial Designs (Colbourn & Dinitz 2007). In 2002, the Institute for Combinatorics and its applications awarded Professor El-Zanati the Hall Medal in recognition of extensive quality research in midcareer. Professor El-Zanati has delivered several plenary talks at conferences and workshops in Australia, Turkey, Thailand, and throughout the USA. Since 2005, Professor El-Zanati has been awarded nearly $3 million dollars in grants from the National Science Foundation.
