NamKug Kim serves currently as a Research Assistant Professor of radiology at Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan, Seoul, Republic of Korea. From 2008 to 2009, he was a Postdoc Research Fellow at The Brain Institute, University of Utah, UT, USA, having as emphasis on MR spectroscopy, neuro/brain image analysis (advisor: Perry Renshaw, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A.). He obtained his Ph.D. degree (2004–2008) (advisor: Suk-Ho Kang, Ph.D.) in data mining, classifier, and computer-aided decision support from the Department of Industrial Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, having the thesis titled “Computerized classifier using quantitative analysis on medical images: application to the lung”; his M.S. degree (1995–1997) (advisor: Yeongho Kim, Ph.D.) in computer-aided design and concurrent engineering from the same department, having the thesis titled “A study and development on an information sharing system for STEP product design data using VRML on WWW” his B.S. degree (1991–1995) from the same department. He is a Reviewer of Korean Journal of Radiology; a Surgical Robot Planning Member, MKE, Republic of Korea; Medistar Project Strategic Planning Member, MHW, Republic of Korea; a Session Chair, KSIIM 2008, The Korean Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine; Interventional Robot Plan Member, MHW; 3D Medical Service Standard Member, MKE.
