César Sequeira holds a Licentiate degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal, in 1968, and a Ph.D. degree in materials science from University of London, London, UK, in 1974. He worked as Lecturer in Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, Portugal, from 1968 to 1974; Professor in IST from 1974 to 2011, actually retired; and Research Leader in ICEMS/IST on materials electrochemistry. Sequeira has over 200 papers, 12 books, 25 chapters, 400 communications on electrochemistry, corrosion, batteries, fuel cells, diffusion, and hydrogen electrodes. He is Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM); Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (FRSC), Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion (FICorr), and Active Member the USA Electrochemical Society.
