Marco Ferraris

Marco Ferraris was born in Argentina in 1952. He received the Mathematics degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Torino, Torino, Italy, in 1977. From July 1978 to November 1981 post graduate grants of the Italian National Research Council. From December 1981 to March 1987 Scientific Researcher of Mathematical Physics at the University of Torino. From April 1987 to October 1993 Full Professor of Rational Mechanics at the University of Cagliari. From November 1993 Full Professor of Analytical Mechanics at the University of Torino. Author of over 100 papers, 1 encyclopaedia long entry and Editor of 2 volumes of Proceedings. Contributed to the organization 4 national and international conferences. Local coordinator of COFIN projects in Cagliari and Torino and national coordinator of a PRIN project based in Torino. Co-founder of the Italian Society of General Relativity and Gravitational Physics (SIGRAV). Has been awarded the Bruno Finzi prize for the year 1995.
