Michele Navarra serves as an Associate Professor in pharmacology at the Department of Drug Sciences and Products for Health, University of Messina (Italy). Navarra received Academic degree in pharmacy specializing in pharmacognosy. Navarra was awarded postgraduate fellowship by Pharmaco-Biological Department, University of Messina, and fellowship by Department of Experimental Medicine and Biochemical Sciences, University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” Rome (1991–1993 and 1994–1996, resp.). Navarra received Anassilaos Award for young scientific researcher in 1999. Navarra main scientific interests are mechanisms underlining the cell death and the anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects of natural drugs.
