Xiuzhen (Susan) Cheng

Xiuzhen (Susan) Cheng works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, The George Washington University. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Her current research interests include compressive sensing, pattern recognition, statistical signal processing, wireless and mobile computing, sensor networking, wireless and mobile security, and algorithm design and analysis. Dr. Cheng has served in the editorial boards of several technical journals and in the technical program committees of various professional conferences/workshops. She is a Program Cochair or Vice Cochair for several conferences such as WASA'06, ICPP'09, and MASS'09. Dr. Cheng worked as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) for six months in 2006 and joined NSF again as a Part-Time Program Director in April 2008. She received the NSF CAREER Award in 2004.
