Quanfang Chen

Quanfang Chen received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in June 1989, Postdoc in mechanical engineering, University of California, Los Angeles, Calif, USA, in 1995. Chen is a Professor of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering Department, University of Central Florida (UCF), in 2010, and was also Associate Professor (2006–2009), Assistant Professor (2001–2005), Visiting professor (1994) at the Department of Physics, University of Bologna, Italy. Chen’s Research expertise and interests include carbon nanotubes and multifunctional nanocomposites, micro/nanomechanics of materials, microfluidics and biosensors, chemical sensors integrated with nanomaterials, micro/nanoelectromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS), micro/nanofabrication, mechanics (strength and fracture, friction and wear) at microscale, robust microvalves and micropumps, deformable micromirrors and adaptive optics, thermal management of electronics, analytical studies of materials, and MEMS/NEMS. Chen has many publications.
