Philipp Kahlert studied medicine at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany, and worked as a Clinical and Research Fellow at the West-German Heart Center Essen, Department of Cardiology. From 2009 to 2010, he performed research on magnetic-resonance-guided cardiovascular interventions at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology as part of an internal research grant of the University Duisburg-Essen. He was board-certified in internal medicine in 2010 and currently works as a Consultant at the Department of Cardiology, holding a position as an Assistant Director of the catheterization laboratories. His clinical and research interests are interventional cardiology with focus on transcatheter valve therapies and peri-interventional imaging. He serves is a Member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), a Member of the EAPCI New Initiatives for Young Interventionists Committee, and a Member of the German Cardiac Society (DGK) and its interventional working group (AGIK).
