Francesco Haardt was born in Milan in 1964. In 1991, he received a Laurea degree (B.S. and M.S. equivalent degree) in physics from the University of Milan. In 1994, he received a Ph.D. degree in astrophysics from SISSA/ISAS, Trieste, Italy. From1994 to 1996, he served as a Postdoc at CHT, Goteborg, Italy. From 1996 to 1998, he was a Postdoc at the University of Milan. From 1998 till 2002, he served as a Researcher in astrophysics at Insubria University, Como. Since 2002, he holds the position of a CHT Associate Professor of cosmology and astrophysics at Insubria University, Como, Italy. His research interests include physics of the IGM, high energy emission from black holes, formation and evolution of massive black holes, gravitational wave background, and dynamics of black hole binaries.
