Matthijs Janssen

Matthijs Janssen was born in November 1953, Gouda, The Netherlands. He received in 1979 a Medical degree from the University of Groningen; between 1980 and 1985, a training in internal medicine at the Hospital Ziekenzorg and Hospital De Stadsmaten, Enschede; from 1986 to1988, a training in rheumatology at the Academic Hospital in Leiden; in 1994, a Ph.D. degree at the University of Leiden. Since 1992, he is Rheumatologist, Rijnstate Velp, The Netherlands. Janssen has over 50 publications on NSAID-associated gastrointestinal damage in rheumatoid arthritis, poststreptococcal reactive arthritis, gout and cardiovascular comorbidity and gout.
