Yutaka Yata, M.D., Ph.D., is the Director of Department of Gastroenterology, Saiseikai Maebashi Hospital. Yata received the M.D. degree with honors from Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Toyama, Japan, from 1985 to 1991, and the Postgraduate course from Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Toyama, Japan, from 1995 to 1999. From 1991 to 1993, Yata was Resident at Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital, Toyama. Yata became Research Fellow at National Children's Medical Research Center, Tokyo, Japan, Research Associate at Liver Center, Duke University Medical Center, NC, USA, and Research Associate at Department of medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA. Yata was Physician at the University of Tokyo Hospital, Tokyo, Japan (2002-2003), Assistant Professor at University of Toyama Hospital, Toyama, Japan (2003–2007), and Director of the Department of Gastroenterology, Saiseikai Maebashi Hospital since 2007. Yata was awarded the Research Award of the Japan Society of Hepatology in 2001. Yata?s fields of interests include hepatocellular carcinoma, liver tumor, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, liver fibrosis, radiofrequency ablation, and radiofrequency ablation.
