Javier Oliver obtained his Ph.D. degree in computer science in September 1996 and his M.S. degree in electrical and electronic physics in June 1985 from the Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. Oliver is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Sistemas Informáticos y Computación, E.T.S.I. de Telecomunicación (ETSIT) at the Universitat Politècnica de València. He has been the Vice Dean of quality assurance since 2009. His research interests include modeling of concurrency and distributed Systems, petri nets, process algebras, formal methods, mobile computing, multiparadigm programming, debugging, and program slicing.
