Beom Soo Kim

Beom Soo Kim is a professor of chemical engineering at Chungbuk National University, Cheongju, Korea. He studied chemical engineering at Seoul National University (1988), obtained a PhD in biochemical engineering at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (1993), completed postdoctoral work at MIT Prof. Robert Langer's lab (1998). He started his lab at Chungbuk National University (2001) and spent sabbatical research in Dr. Ching T. Hou's lab at National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Peoria, Illinois (2005). His research interests are: production of various metabolites by high cell density culture, synthesis of biodegradable polymers and molecularly imprinted polymers, and biosynthesis of nanomaterials. Beom Soo Kim has published over 90 papers and several articles were chosen as most downloaded and cited in the following journals: Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering, Process Biochemistry.
