Victor Mitrana is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the University of Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania. He published more than 180 papers, authored three books, and edited four books. He was a Humboldt Fellow, a Ramon y Cajal Professor, and a Gheorghe Lazar Prize of the Romanian Academy winner. Mitrana is a Visiting Professor or Visiting Researcher at more than twenty universities all over the world. He is a member of the editorial board of several international journals. His fields of interest are formal languages and automata, models of computation, bioinspired computing, algorithms and combinatorics on finite/infinite sequences, and bioinformatics.
