Jacob Engwerda received the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Eindhoven Technical University, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 1998. He is an Associate Professor (UHD) at the Department of Econometrics and Operations Research, Tilburg University, The Netherlands. His research areas are mathematical systems and control theory and, specifically, development of system-theoretic methods for control and identification problems in economics. His current emphasis is on differential games and its use in modeling coordination problems in monetary unions.
