Moustapha Hassan

Moustapha Hassan received his PhD in Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden, in 1987. He did his Post Doctoral research at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, where he developed a liposomal formulation of the anticancer drug busulfan for which he holds patents both in Europe and the United States. He is a Professor of Experimental Hematology since 2005 and Director of Comparative Medicine since 2006 at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. His current research focuses on pharmacogenetics, nanotechnology and the development of new strategies in the treatment of cancer.
