Benoit Dugue has gained his training at the University of Poitiers, France (1981–1986) and then at the Minerva Foundation Institute for Medical Research and at the University of Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland, where he obtained his Docentship in biochemistry (1988–1999). At that time, his main scientific interests dealt with the impact of psychological and/or physiological stress on biochemical and physiological outcomes and also with the area of reference values and preanalytical factors in the context of clinical chemistry. After moving back to France in 1999, Dugue mainly concentrated his research on the field of sport sciences and rehabilitation. At the University of Poitiers, Dugue is the Head of the Laboratory of Exercise-Induced Physiological Adaptations and is in charge of a Master Curricula concerning handicap, rehabilitation, and motor performance.
