Ismail H. Al-Abdullah

Ismail H. Al-Abdullah works as a Research Professor and a Director of Clinical Islet Transplant Laboratories at the Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism, City of Hope, Beckman Research Institute, Duarte, Calif, USA. He is an expert in the field of islet transplantation and cell biology. He has more than 20 years of devotion to treat type 1 diabetes with insulin producing pancreatic islets. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland. He worked at different institutions worldwide including National University of Ireland, Oxford University, Kuwait University, University of Basrah (Iraq), Dalhousie University (Canada), Hahnemann University (Philadelphia, Pa, USA), and University of Miami (Miami, Fla, USA). Now, he serves at the City of Hope. Throughout his academic career, he has established several research laboratories and has successfully implemented Edmonton Protocol to cure diabetes with islets. He has more than 70 publications.
