Paul C. Xirouchakis

Paul C. Xirouchakis received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1971. In 1978, Xirouchakis obtained the Ph.D. degree in structural mechanics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA. Then, Xirouchakis gained the M.S. degree in computer science and the Ph.D. degree in information technology from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, USA, in 1990 and 1992, respectively. From 1978 to 1985, Xirouchakis worked as an Assistant and in 1984 became an Associate Professor at the Department of Structural Mechanics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA. During the period from 1985 to 1987, Xirouchakis occupied the post of Associate Professor (with tenure) at the Department of Structural Mechanics, National Technical University. Since 1995 to present, Xirouchakis has been serving as a Professor and Director of the CAD/CAM Laboratory at EPFL, Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. Xirouchakis’s field of interest includes research and development in the area of design and manufacturing.
