Salvador Benlloch served as a Medical Doctor in Valencia School of Medicine, Valencia University, Valencia, Spain, from 1992 to 1998. He currently works as a Hepatologist in the Hepatology and Liver Transplantation Unit, Hospital Universitario y Politecnico La Fe, Valencia, Spain. He completed a Fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology (Resident) at the same hospital from 1999 to 2003, with additional training in liver transplantation. Benlloch obtained his Ph.D. degree in medicine from Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona in September 2008, with a thesis entitled “Prospective validation of a non-invasive index for predicting liver fibrosis in HCV-infected liver transplant patients.” He served as a Clinical Research Fellow (research training contract), Carlos III Health Institute (Ministerio de Sanidad, Research Training Program FIS CM04/00217), Hepato-Gastroenterology Service, Liver transplant Unit, Hospital Universitari La Fe, Valencia, from 2005 to 2008 and a Research Fellow in Hepatology Research Laboratory (Rosen Lab), University of Colorado at Health Sciences Center (UCHSC), Denver, Colo, USA, in 2006.
