Marco Cucco was born in Pinerolo, Italy, in 1957. He received the Natural Sciences degree in 1985 (summa cum laude, University of Torino) and the Ph.D. degree in 1991 (University of Pavia). Since 1991, he works as a Researcher at the University of Torino. Since 2001, he serves as an Associate Professor of Zoology at the University of Piemonte Orientale. His Ph.D. thesis focused on the behavioral ecology of swifts. Later, he studied the behavioral ecology of the several bird species (Black Redstart, Moorhen, Carrion Crow, Magpie, and Grey Partridge). He is also interested in ecological studies of regional fauna, bird atlases, and vocalizations. Recently, he studied invertebrates communities in polluted soils and freshwaters.
