Christoph Boesecke holds an M.D. degree. He completed his medical studies at Charité University Medicine Berlin, Germany. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Hamburg, Germany, for his research in acute HIV infection. He began training in infectious diseases and has worked in the field of HIV medicine for 6 years including a 2-year postgraduate position studying integrase inhibitors in acute and chronic HIV infection at the National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research (now The Kirby Institute) in Sydney, Australia. Currently, he is employed as an Assistant Doctor and Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Bonn, Germany. His main areas of research are focused on comorbidities and coinfections in HIV, particularly acute Hepatitis C.
