A. Brunetti received the M.D. degree and Laurea degree in medicine from the University of Catania, Italy, in 1983; specialty in endocrinology and metabolism from the same university in 1986; Ph.D. degree in endocrinology and metabolism from the University of Naples, Naples, Italy, 1992. Since 1993, he has been a Professor in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Catanzaro “Magna Græcia”, Catanzaro, Italy. Since 1996, he has been working as an Associate Specialist at the Diabetes and Endocrine Research Laboratory, University of California San Francisco (UCSF), San Francisco, Calif, USA. During 1986–1992, he was a Visiting Specialist at the Diabetes and Endocrine Research Laboratory, University of California San Francisco (UCSF), San Francisco, Calif, USA. In 1985, he was a Visiting Fellow at the National Council of Research (CNR), University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, and between 1983–1984, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, University of Catania. His research areas include phatophisiology of insulin action, insulin resistance, obesity, and diabetes.
