Sven Bogdan received a Heisenberg Fellowship (DFG), 2011. Bogdan studied biology at the University of Bochum, 1991–1996. Bogdan obtained a Habilitation degree (venia legendi in zoology/neurobiology), 2009 and defended the Ph.D. thesis in the lab. of Professor Dr. G.U. Ryffel, Institute of Cell Biology, University of Essen, 1997–2000 and the Diploma thesis in the lab. of Professor Dr. W.H. Kunau, Institute of Physiological Chemistry, University of Bochum, 1996–1997. Since 2006, Bogdan has been an Independent Group Leader “Actin dynamics-driven processes during Drosophila development” at the Institute of Neurobiology, University of Münster. Bogdan was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the lab. of Professor Dr. C. Klämbt, Institute of Neurobiology, University of Münster, 2000–2002.
