Andreas Buettner from 1983 to 1988 served as an autopsy technician in Munich and Berlin; from 1988 to 1994 at the Medical School, Munich. In 1994, he worked on a medical thesis at the Institute of Neuropathology, Munich. From 1994 to 1995, he worked on residency at the Institute of Neuropathology and Neurosurgical Clinic, Munich. In 1995, he received a physician‘s license. In 1996, he worked as a Resident Physician at the Neurosurgical Clinic, Munich. From 1997 to 2009, he served as a Resident Physician at the Institute of Legal Medicine, University of Munich. In 2003, he worked on Specialty Board Certification for Legal Medicine, and in 2004, he worked on professorial thesis (Habilitation) for legal medicine at the University of Munich. Since March 1, 2009, he has been serving as a Director of the Institute of Legal Medicine, University of Rostock, Germany; and since June 1, 2010, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Ethical Commission at the Medical Faculty, University of Rostock, Germany.
