Emad A. Rakha

Emad A. Rakha is a Senior Lecturer and a Consultant Pathologist at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Nottingham, UK. His main disciplines are breast pathology and gynaecological pathology. He qualified in medicine in 1992 and gained his M.S. degree (pathology) and his M.D. degree (pathology) from Egypt. He gained his Ph.D. degree in breast pathology from the University of Nottingham, UK, in 2005 and obtained the fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists by examination in 2008. He is a key member of the multidisciplinary Nottingham Breast Research Group at the University of Nottingham. During the past 6 years, he has been a coauthor on a total of 88 peer-reviewed publications (48 first author publications) in addition to 28 articles submitted or in preparation and more than 90 abstract submissions to national and international conferences and meetings. Moreover, he is an author for 4 book chapters in breast disease, and he is acting as a reviewer to 18 indexed and high-profile international journals while maintaining full-time clinical commitments as a Consultant Pathologist and as a Leader of the Trust Core-Facility Biorepository. His publications include “Tubular carcinoma of the breast: further evidence to support its excellent prognosis,” “Combinatorial biomarker expression in breast cancer,” and “Lobular breast carcinoma and its variants.”
