Joshua Liao received his medical degree in 1982 and his M.S. Degree in histology and embryology in 1985, both in China. He was a pathologist during 1986-1990 in China and then received his Ph.D. degree on molecular toxicology from Karolinska Institute, Sweden, in 1996. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Kansas University and Georgetown University in the USA during 1996-2001. He was an Assistant Professor at the Pathology Department of Wayne State University in Detroit during 2001-2006. He has been an Associate Professor in Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota since 2006. Dr. Liao has been interested in pathology of breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers from transgenic animals and in alternative splicing of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.
