Jianglin Fan holds M.D. and Ph.D. degrees and works as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Molecular Pathology, University of Yamanashi, Japan. His current research includes elucidation of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and pathophysiology of lipid metabolism. Fan is especially interested in using transgenic rabbit models for translational research. His laboratory is focusing on matrix metalloproteinases and C-reactive protein, for their functional roles in plaque ruptures.
