Liya Ge

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore 0000-0003-0440-7505

Dr Liya Ge received her B.E. degree in polymer chemical engineering from Zhejiang University in 1999. After worked as a research engineer in Institute of Seawater Desalination and Multipurpose Utilization, State Oceanic Administration for three years, she continued to pursue a PhD degree in bioanalytical and analytical chemistry from Nanyang Technological University. She is, since 2005, a researcher in Nanyang Technological University. The previous multidisciplinary training allows her to stand at the interface of chemistry, biology and engineering, which encourages me to re-evaluate some critical chemical, biological and environmental issues from unique angles. Her research interests include but are not limited to: • Extraction, separation, identification and characterization of various bioactive compounds. • Investigation of novel analytical approaches in proteomic technology to disclose biological and biomedical mysteries. • Application of LC-MS, CE-MS, GC-MS and NMR as multiplatform to comprehensively study for metabolomics. • Development of portable devices for point-of-care diagnostics and in Situ detection.
