Morten Ring Eskildsen

Morten Ring Eskildsen was born in Denmark in 1967. He received his M.S. degree From the University of Copenhagen, Denmark in 1994, then his Ph.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen jointly with Risø National Laboratory, Denmark in 1998. He remained at Risø National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Researcher until 1999, followed by 4 years as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He joined the faculty at the University of Notre Dame in 2003, where he serves now as an Associate Professor of physics. In 2005, he was named an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow. His research is experimental in the area of superconductivity and magnetism, with an emphasis on vortices and how they reflect the nature of the superconducting state in the host material.
