Han-Do Kim obtained a Ph.D. degree in fiber/polymer science and engineering in August 1982, an M.S. degree in fiber/polymer science and engineering in February 1978, a B.S. degree in polymer science and engineering in February 1973, all from Pusan National University, Pusan, South Korea. He also completed a Postdoc in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Texas at Austin, Tex, USA, from 1988 to 1989. Kim currently works as a Professor in the Department of Organic Material Science and Engineering, Pusan National University. His areas of expertise include preparation/characterization/properties of waterborne polyurethanes, UV-curable polyurethane acrylates, thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers, chemical modification/grafting/blending of polymers, thermoplastic elastomers, and regenerated cellulose fibers. Kim is an Advisory Editorial Board Member of the journal Fibers and Polymers, Springer, and served as a Visiting Professor at Brown University in 2010.
